Athy Rowing & Canoeing

The simple concept of having fun forms a major aspect of the ethos that enshrines Athy Rowing and Canoeing.

The club is built around friendship learning new sports and enjoying not only Athy’s unique waterways but also those throughout the entire countryalign: We regularly spend our weekends away testing new waters (for fun) and competing with other clubs (for sport): We meet every Saturday morning for 10 am at the Boat Slip in Athy. New members are always welcome and just need to show up. Everything else will be provided.

Training & development is placed high on the agenda within the club for those who wish to pursue qualifications in their sport; Every effort is made to provide our members with recognised qualifications/certifications as this will continue to benefit the club long term. Some of our members are currently pursuing qualifications in Canoeing Kayaking Lifesaving First Aid and River Rescue. However, many of our members also just wish to enjoy their sport and the waterways on a weekly basis.

Membership fees are kept to a minimum and are dependent on the discipline you wish to pursue; however, membership will not amount to more than euro 80 per year. This covers insurance and affiliation to the national bodies of Rowing Ireland and Canoeing Ireland
